Tell Congress:

Fund CHIP Now

CHIP is a model program that provides health coverage to children in need. In 2016 alone, CHIP covered over 8.9 million children. 1

States have expanded children's coverage significantly through their CHIP programs. Over $25.5 billion has been allocated to help insure low-income children who are ineligible for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. 2

In some cases, CHIP is the only way for children to receive health insurance. CHIP has reduced the number of uninsured children by 67.9%, even during the economic crisis that began in 2008. 3

Unless Congress acts soon, states will be forced to curtail enrollment and health services for children.

Say YES to Funding CHIP

Congress allowed funding to lapse for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
